Pastor Scott Brier

Pastor Brier has served in music ministry as a church music director, Christian school music teacher, college professor, music camp faculty, and piano teacher.

After graduating from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education (piano proficiency) and Bible, he later received a Masters degree in Sacred Music from Pensacola Christian College in 1992 (conducting proficiency). He studied conducting with Dr. Frank Garlock.

Recently he completed the Choral Conducting Symposium at the University of Michigan with Dr. Jerry Blackstone and Dr. Paul Rardin. He currently is a member of the American Choral Conductors Association.

During the summer Scott is on the faculty of Maranatha Baptist Bible College’s Craftsmen’s Colloquium - a three day seminar for music directors, accompanists, and arrangers. Scott also enjoys involvement in the community by directing the Marlette Community Chorus’ annual Messiah Concerts. He also conducts the Lapeer Philharmonic Orchestra and has conducted the Lapeer Symphony Civic Orchestra.

Jackie and Scott recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They have been blessed with six children. They have one daughter in Bible College, one daughter teaching at Fostoria Baptist Academy, and three children still at home. Their oldest son is married and serving in music ministry.
